A Newport News, Va., police officer was shot dead Wednesday night by a suspected drunk driver who was not wearing his seat belt. The officer was in the front seat of a patrol car following a call about a domestic dispute when he was shot by a suspect in a dark gray sedan who was attempting to flee the scene.
