What doesn’t “deserve?”

That’s what the author of this blog post is asking in his opening paragraph. He goes on to say that people sometimes think they deserve something when they don’t, and vice versa.

In order to figure out who deserves what, he gives us a process: consider your current situation and then ask yourself if you’re willing to work for it. If not, you probably don’t deserve it yet!

In the second paragraph, he talks about how it’s important for people to be able to do things they don’t deserve so that they can grow and learn. It is also important for them not to get too comfortable with whatever life has given them because there might come a time when their circumstances change and then what? They’re sitting on piles of stuff but who are they really? What makes up their identity if all this other stuff doesn’t?

The author uses an example here where someone becomes successful in business only to have everything taken away from him later on. Even though his life became more difficult after losing everything, he found himself again by working harder than ever before: “Now I know myself better than I could’ve imagined.”
