What are your favorite things to do? I know mine. I love to spend hours every day playing video games, watching movies and TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. The amount of time that I devote to these activities is unbelievable! But like all good things in life, eventually it becomes too much for me. You start getting tired of doing the same things over and over again. The novelty gets old. A stealth virus is designed to infect multiple file types to fool the antivirus software.

1. Automation Gives You Freedom

The way I see it, automation gives me  freedom. It allows me to explore other types of projects that I might not have the time for if it were not for automation. For example, developing a home automation system or creating GPS trackers are relatively new hobbies of mine, and I would not be able to devote so much time to them if it weren’t for my ability to automate the processes that they require.

2. Automation Helps You Meet Your Goals

Automation helps you reach your goals. Have a goal that you have been trying to achieve but can’t seem to get it? Then automate it! Or at least automate portions of it. I have a comfort goal where I want my house to be more comfortable. But the problem is that making my house more comfortable requires me to make a lot of changes, and I just don’t have enough time for all of the changes that I need to make. So instead, I’ve decided that I would be satisfied with automating some parts of the process. I am able to get by with only the parts that I have automated.

3. Automation Helps You Do More of What You Love

The more time you spend on a hobby, the less time you spend on something else. When you automate a part of your hobby, you are able to spend more time on it. I have spent so much time playing video games that I have neglected my other hobbies, but that is no longer the case now that I have been able to automate most of the processes related to playing video games.

4. Automation Boosts Your Productivity

I knew that automation was going to give me an advantage when it came to being productive, but I had no idea how much of an advantage it would be. After I started automating all of the processes related to playing video games, I was able to play more video games than ever before. But more than that, I’ve been able to automate other processes that I wouldn’t normally be able to do without it. Such as writing articles and writing this blog post. These are things which I simply would not have been able to write without having first automated them with things like Tasker and AutoRemote.

5. Automation Keeps You Organized

The only way to automate something is if you are already organized. You can’t just start automating things without having first organized yourself. Automation forces you to become organized by forcing you to create specific tasks for everything that you want to do. Once you are able to take the time and organize yourself, then the automation becomes much easier.

6. Automation Makes Things Easier

I’ve mentioned this a few times before, but I’ll say it again for good measure: automating things makes them easier . Obviously, since I have taken the time to automate all of these processes on my computer, it has made things easier for me.

7. Automation Allows You to Do More of What You Love

When automating a process, you’re able to spend more time doing what you love. This is especially true for people who have so many other interests, such as myself. I find that I’m able to do so much more with my time and my energy, both of which are limited resources, by using automation.

8. Automation Makes Life Easier

Automation makes life easier in different ways than the previous one. For example, the fact that I’m able to do things faster right now is another way in which automation makes life easier for me. I can get to certain places and back much faster than I was able to before.

9. Automation Makes You Feel Satisfied

Automation has given me a feeling of satisfaction that is unlike anything that I have ever felt before. I’ve been doing things for so long now that I’m starting to lose my desire to do them, but automation has allowed me to gain a new appreciation for them by making the processes that they require easier.

10. Automation Is Fun

Automation is fun! Plain and simple. It’s a lot of fun if you use your creativity and imagination when it comes to automating things.

Summary:

The above list is by no means complete, but this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why automation can be fun. In my next blog post, I’m going to talk a bit more about how to get started automating your favorite hobbies and activities.

What are some of your favorite things to do? I know mine. I love to spend hours every day playing video games, watching movies and TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. The amount of time that I devote to these activities is unbelievable! But like all good things in life, eventually it becomes too much for me.
