You’ve probably noticed that the world has gotten significantly more fast paced over the last decade or so. With everything from our smartphones to our food, we’ve become accustomed to being able to have anything and everything we want at the push of a button. But where does it all come from? It turns out that there are some absolutely fascinating processes behind these everyday things like the Indian vegan experiment, and I’ve compiled them together into an overview of the evolution of modern life.
Know what is modern lifestyle:
1. Modern life started in 1777 with the invention of the steam engine. This marked the beginning of modern industrialization.
2. The first power plant was built in Berlin, Germany in 1882 by physicist Hermann Schussler. He noticed that a strong air current from the dynamo placed next to it could lift bits of paper off a table, and he used this to build his first generator. Soon after, this idea was used to power lighting in homes around Europe and America.
3. The first car appeared in 1886 and was called the Benz Patent Motor Car. It had a 3-horsepower, single-cylinder engine. In 1900, the number of cars on the road around the globe began to increase exponentially. This led to big developments in transportation such as roads and highways.
4. Television made its way onto the world stage in 1920 when it was first demonstrated by John Logie Baird in London, England using a mechanical system that produced enough of a picture that people could recognize shapes in it. The following year, Philo Farnsworth (who also invented video games) demonstrated his line scanning system which was capable of producing images with more detail than Baird’s mechanical system.
5. The first video game console was developed in 1971 by Ralph Baer who used a Magnavox Odyssey to demonstrate the game Pong to the public. The game was truly revolutionary as it had no graphics, just two paddles, and allowed players to score points by hitting an opponent’s side of the screen.
6. Computers first appeared in 1946 with ENIAC, one of the world’s first electronic computers. This was followed by computer development beginning in 1947 when Alick Glennie created a program that could calculate pi using electronic circuits and wires that he could connect together using switch grids.
7. In 1961, the first fully functional prototype of the modern personal computer went on sale, called Altair 8800 Professional V. S.S. to be more exact.
8. The first personal computer that was mass-produced and sold was IBM’s IBM PC in 1981, which was an upgrade of the earlier IBM Personal Computer (1981).
9. In 1983, Microsoft released Windows 2.0, the version of its operating system that most systems today still use to this day.
10. In 1986, the World Wide Web was developed by Tim Berners-Lee. The first website was created in 1992 when Berners-Lee made his first site, Information Management: http://info.cern.ch/. This was followed by the release of Mosaic, a program with a graphical interface that would allow users to access websites more easily in 1993.
What all is fascinating about modern lifestyle?
1. The main reason why modern lifestyle has become so innovative is due to the observation by many scientists and researchers that over the course of time, life has become too complicated as we’ve developed more and more sophisticated ways of doing things such as fixing stuff, building houses, throwing fireballs, flying through space and discovering electricity.
2. The world’s first automobile company was started by Karl Benz in Mannheim, Germany in 1885. This was then followed by Gottlieb Daimler (who worked with Karl Benz) in Stuttgart, Germany who created the first petrol-powered car which ran on gasoline. This was the beginning of the automobile industry which today is a global industry that employs millions of people all over the world every year.
3. The first electric car was invented in 1879 by British engineer William Stanley. He improved upon the design of the battery-powered car by creating one which used compressed air and this was followed by the first production battery-powered car in 1896. This paved the way for mass production of electric cars which today continue to be very popular with consumers all over the world.
4. The first television program was broadcast on March 7, 1927 in New York by NBC Radio station WEAF (later renamed WNBC).
5. The first video game was created in 1947 when 2 MIT students – William Higinbotham and Walter Brown – created a shooting game for their course called ‘Atari Golf’. It was so popular that people soon began calling the game with this name and soon, many people started creating their own games based on the same concept.
6. The first computer was built by English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst and pioneering computer scientist Alan Turing who invented an early digital computer called the Automatic Computing Engine (ACE) in 1950. Soon after, a similar machine called the Electronic Delay Storage Automatic Calculator (EDSAC) was developed by a research team led by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the University of Pennsylvania in 1951.
Conclusion of the article:
Modern life has come a long way from the simple lifestyle in ancient times as it is today. It’s fair to say that modern life came about not just because of man’s ingenuity and imagination, but also because of the development of new technologies that have revolutionized modern society over the years. Modern lifestyle is surely something to be proud of, and it is something we all strive to obtain at all costs in our pursuit for a better quality of life. : )
