I just wrote this blog because my friend Dan has found himself in a pretty tough economic financial situation. He’s living the good life, working at a startup that he believes will transform the way people shop online and he has all kinds of wonderful plans for his future. After he got laid off, his friends got the idea that they should start an online forum. “Grey Dog Software Forum”, they called it and the forums became so popular, that Grey Dog Software is moving to a new city.

I wrote this blog to try and get people to realize that their world is not the only world. It really is true that our world is very different from other people’s and that it has its own problems and woes. Some of these problems are not only our own, but also arise from the way we relate to other people.

Greydog.com is a platform where people go to learn about software from all perspectives from programmers, designers, marketeers, marketers, vendors, etc. They provide education and help people start up a career in all aspects of the technology space. It includes forums for everyone and to help people solve their own problems.

My wife and I have been married since September of 2003 and from the day I was laid off I was looking for a job to supplement our modest income. We found it in the form of marketing software and website design software. Since I was not an expert the job was not in the realm of possible, but it did pay well so I was able to keep myself at an arm’s length.

When looking for a new job, the best way to begin is by seeking out other job candidates. Ask questions. Ask for referrals from your peers. Ask for feedback on how you could make your career more dynamic and easier to do. Ask friends for recommendations on their strengths and skills. This is the golden rule of hiring. The hiring of new employees is a two way process. The people who are hiring you should also be hiring other employees as they will give each other the best training.

This is a story full of laughter and tears of laughter. It is a story that will leave your brain a little stumped and your throat a little sore. The man had a bit of a history of depression and alcoholism, some of which he was trying to forget along with others just trying to get back on track. This is a story of two people who have spent their lives seeking things out that they were not looking for.
